Detox Your Home With UsWe live in an increasingly toxic world.  In fact, WWF has found that between 1930 and 2000 the production of chemicals increased from 1 million tons per year to 400 million!  It seems like every day some “new” product is being released that’s full of chemicals and ingredients our Great-Grandparents wouldn’t have recognized.  The full extent of the effects of this toxin exposure are not yet known, and may not be ever fully known.

The Sickest Generation Ever

What we do know, however, is that this generation of children is the sickest generation ever.  It is estimated that for the first time ever, this generation will have a shorter lifespan than their parents.  Chronic diseases among children are at an all-time high, and children are developing diseases not previously seen until adulthood.   Nearly one in every four women has a diagnosed autoimmune or thyroid disease and new diseases are popping up on a regular basis. While we, obviously, don’t have a definite reason as to why this health crisis is happening- there is clearly a big problem on our hands!  Cleaning up our homes, our food, and our bodies from chemicals and toxins may help recover some health.

The Famous Label

It seems nearly impossible to walk through a store without seeing this label:

Warning: This product contains chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

This label can be found on thousands upon thousands of products.  It gives us a bit of a warning about known exposure and the possibility of cancer and birth defects.  Wouldn’t it be fascinating to see more research done on some of the other effects of these types of products?

Our Mother Earth is Hurting Too

Not only are we seeing drastic impacts on human health from this “modern” era, we’re seeing drastic impacts on the Earth as well.  Virtually no one does any studies on the environmental impact of chemicals, toxins, pesticides, herbicides, etc. The ever-growing crisis of bees is an alarming wakeup call.  Without bees, we all perish. Global warming is another major environmental threat that likely has connections to our chemical usage. Severe droughts are being seen in unprecedented ways.  Cape Town, South Africa is nearly out of water and rapidly approaching “Day 0.  People are lining up for hours a day just to get their 13 gallons of water.
