Meet Allison from Branch Basics cleaning products, a women-owned business from Austin, TX. Allison and her partners, Marliee and Kelly, have developed a unique, and eco-friendly cleaning solution. 1- Thanks for taking some time to share with us about your company. Tell us a little bit about what BranchBasics cleaning products is and why you started the company.
BranchBasics cleaning products is a wellness brand on a mission to help people create healthy homes by removing harmful chemicals from their daily lives so they can experience the life-changing power of pure. My aunt, best friend and myself started the company after experiencing radical health transformations by simply removing toxins from our home and diet and getting “back to basics“. We provide safe, effective, multi-purpose cleaning products and share invaluable information on all things healthy living!

2- What was the process like for creating your formula?
Hmm…in a nutshell, it was long, tedious and extremely rewarding! It took us about 18 months and over 100 iterations before settling on a formula that met all of our standards of safety and efficacy. We are beyond thankful and proud of the final result and will never forget the day we unanimously agreed, “This is IT!”
3- Do you have any words of encouragement or support you’d like to share with women?
Know your “Why” and keep going toward it. There were so many ups and downs along our journey to reformulate and rebuild our brand, but we were able to overcome the low points because our original mission never wavered. We are so passionate about providing information and products that will help others live truly healthy lives, so with our eye on this prize, we kept going. No matter how far away the light seems, if you keep reminding yourself of the “Why”, you can overcome anything.
4- What other tips would you give to women looking to remove toxins and waste from their homes?
The most important thing we can do to create a clean home in which our bodies can thrive is to remove any products that are undermining our air quality. Crucial to the entire process is the complete removal of toxic cleaning products and pesticides. The presence of these products, even in small amounts, prevents the creation of a truly healthy home, hindering the ability for the body to maintain health and/or heal. After reading all the labels, remove ALL pesticides and cleaning products that have toxic red flags from the home and garage (if it’s attached). Then, start the process of replacing your home products with healthy alternatives!

6- Is there anything else you’d like to share?
It is one of my greatest desires for women to understand the power their bodies have to heal naturally, if given the right diet and environment. I was diagnosed with a severe case of PCOS, told I’d never conceive naturally, and spent my college years on a slew of drugs to combat mysterious chronic pain. After removing ALL toxins from my home and diet, my body began to heal. The pain virtually disappeared, and eventually, this lifestyle brought the complete reversal of PCOS and the (easy!) natural conception of two baby girls. No matter what you are facing, I believe that going “back to basics” and filling your body with clean air and food can only help – and with time, can usually bring forth a life of thriving, not just surviving.
